Edward Ewin

I excel in vector designs; my favourite type of design is branding, illustration and design for print. After graduation I want to work during a placement or internship and then travel around the world for a few years. My favourite project at Uni has been working on placements with various companies. I feel I was able to get a good idea of the working world of graphic design. University has taught me to test my known capabilities. In the next 5 years I would like to be working for an independent design company, wherever that may be in the world.

After I graduate university, I would like to work within a PR team or for an architect firm as a graphic designer. The most important thing I have learnt in University is that you should always be confident in your work and explore each and every idea that pops into your head. A bad idea can often be turned into a great one that works. Wit the skills and knowledge I have acquired, I am looking forward to beginning a career within the creative industry.

Having a natural love for design and producing concepts which come alive that I can take pride in, pushes me to enhance and acquire new skills. I am a determined designer with a passion for innovative design. I have produced a variety of work, which demonstrates my interest in advertising, print and digital design. I was fortunate enough to be part of a China Exchange trip. I acquired a broad insight into their different work processes and how important it is to design for the International Market. Graphic Design is a passion of mine and I enjoy learning about the continuous development of the industry.

Creating pleasurable user experiences is my focus, and I enjoy the challenge of crafting solutions that are functional and enjoyablefor an audience to interact with. My favorite project has beenmy D&AD BBC brief in which Icreated a completelynew way of delivering BBC content.Whilst at university I’ve learnt it is extremely important to focus on the user experience, regardless of the medium, to craft effective designs. After graduating I will look for a studio position where I can develop my digital work, and in five years’ time I hope to be working on ever bigger and more exciting projects.

I express my creative ideas using a range of software, materials and techniques. When I graduate I would like to work on advertising and editorial work for successful fashion brands. I believe typography is key to any brief and therefore most of my work is type-dominant. On the other hand, during placements I have undertaken, I learnt the value of looking beyond my preferences and developing new skills and approaches. My favorite university project involved advertising for the BBC World Service. The possibilities were endless and I produced a complete and unique concept which I excelled in.

Naomi Dunkley

Hi, my name is Naomi Maria Dunkley. The challenges Graphic Design brings are what I need to grow as a designer. My favourite areas are branding, posters and logo design.

In the next five years I aim to launch my own business, but after graduation I will continue gaining more experience by working for someone else for a while.

One of my most creative designs is from the Typography 3 module; a bookmark design. I had to produce a different sort of type specimen.

For me design is a God given gift which will go beyond graduation. University is just the start.

Mustafa Hussein

Over the past three years at university, I have excelled in a variety of areas within graphic design. Covering certain aspects such as typography, advertising and branding. These are a few sectors which I will be using and incorporating in my future professional and personal practice. As an entrepreneur, I will take these qualifications with me after I graduate to pursue my career and goals within graphic design. I enjoy projects that allow me to be independently creative rather than sticking within restrictions and boundaries. One thing I have learned throughout my time here is that, time is inalterable.

My design is an extension of me, allowing me to channel my creativity into the ever-changing world around us – it’s what I want to do for my day job and also how I tend to unwind. I am conceptual and user-focused, responding to the today and designing with both relevancy and purpose, taking care and pride throughout every piece. Great design drives me and encourages me to push my own work further. I aspire to one day make a name for myself and my work, which makes me excited for what’s next and ready to face new challenges in industry.

Aaron Briggs

Hi, My favourite areas of the creative industry are typography and illustration. Once I have graduated from Uni I will try and get a job or placement at a design agency trying to kick-start my career in the design industry. My favourite project, which I have worked on, was the D&AD john Lewis packaging brief. This is because I feel I shown great understanding of the brief and created some designs that were engaging and immersive to the audience.

In 5 years time I would like to see myself moved outside of Coventry and hopefully be working in New york as a illustrator/ graphic designer working for a respected and busy design agency.

Alexander Bailey

I would say that I enjoy the identity/branding area of graphic design as I enjoy taking an identity and turning into a visual brand. My plans after graduation are hopefully to be working for a design agency doing what I love. My favorite project was creating a drinks menu for a dementia care home. The reason why I liked doing this was because the challenge that I had to create something that people with dementia would be able to understand.
How to expand my ideas. In 5 years I would like to be in a secure job enjoying life.
